Plans to visit Maui? Looking for a place where the ambiance is inviting, and the ingredients are locally sourced? Longhi’s is open for business! Located on Maui’s South Shore at the Shops of Wailea. Longhi’s has been around for 43 years, 17 of those here in Wailea.
Longhi’s is an Italian Seafood and Steak House, serving up delicate and flavorful seafood and pasta dishes as well as tantalizing drinks. Longhi’s Wailea is open daily from 8am-9pm. They serve breakfast/brunch, lunch, and dinner. Their happy hour is daily from 3pm-6pm, where they have an extensive pupu (appetizer’s) menu and 25% off wine, beer, and drinks by the glass.
I was able to attend the Grand Reopening for Longhi’s with my family. We had an amazing time. The great customer service started as we entered the building and lasted through out the entire evening. Staff was quick, efficient, and very appreciative. They do have a Keiki Menu for the kids!
We started the evening with pupu’s- the crab cake, artichoke, and calamari. The crab cakes were light and crispy on the outside, moist and firm on the inside, and packed with flavorful lump crab meat. It was covered with perfectly seasoned home-grown Kula avocado guacamole. The artichoke, cooked to perfection, with a lemon butter sauce, dusted with Parmigiano Reggiano was also a good choice. The calamari were light and delicate, accompanied by a spicy arrabiata sauce and basil garlic aioli, deliciously satisfying.
For entrees, we ordered 2 pasta dishes and shared them family style. Let me say that both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly Al dente. The Pasta Primavera, consisted of penne pasta tossed in a perfect pesto sauce with fresh vegetables. The Shrimp Marinara, linguine tossed with large shrimp in a Marsala wine infused Marinara sauce. The shrimp were plump, fresh, juicy, and sweet. I have not tried all the menu yet, but I would come back specifically for this dish.
During my grand re-opening visit, I was relieved to see they had measures in place for social distancing and Covid-19 precautions. You could tell our safety as customers was a priority! With the open patio seating, we enjoyed the fresh air on a relaxing Hawaiian night. I would recommend this place for locals and tourists. If you are on Oahu, check out Longhi’s at Ko Olina.
